How do you get a fishing job in Alaska?

Go to UniSea or Pacific One’s website, download the ap, fill it out, mail it to them, and when the season that you’ve requested comes up, they’ll notify you-though best to keep calling them for updates on interview times and places-to go to one of several designated cities-usually on the West Coast-to have an interview and take a drug test. If you pass, you’ll be notified to come to Seattle to sign a contract and be shipped out. If you complete the contract, they pay for food, lodging, round trip transpo. If you don’t, they take it out. You’ll work 12-16 hour days, depending on your contract. Always sign a contract where you get a cut percentage of the catch, not one by hourly wage.
